Welcome to the of
the Wyoming Cutting Horse Association
HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM THE WCHA!
Special Qualifying Standards for NCHA Eastern &
Western National Championships:
At their meeting on November 8, the NCHA Executive
Committee voted to amend the requirements (for one year only) for
qualifying for the NCHA Eastern National Championships (to be held
in March 2012) and the NCHA Western National Championships (to be
held in late-April & early-May 2012)
For the upcoming National Championships, cutters
must only have paid an entry fee and ridden to the herd at least
once in a class during the 2011 point year in order to be eligible
to enter that class at the National Championships to be held in
2012. Proof that a cutter entered a certain class at least once is
the responsibility of the cutter to provide to the NCHA at the time
they enter the National Championships. Entry forms for the
competition will be available in early 2012. Since proof of entry
must be provided to the NCHA, please go to:
www.cuttingnews.com , click on the Area 4 balloon and then click
on the link to the Wyoming CHA. Once there, one may click on the
show in which they participated and print a copy of the class that
was shown in. The show results have been changed to include all
riders in all classes at all of the WCHA 2011 shows. If you need any
assistance, please don’t hesitate to call Traci @ 307-331-0580 or
email me at:
traci_hatten75@yahoo.com and I will be happy to help you!
The Executive Committee voted to lessen the entry
requirements for next year's events, primarily due to the fact that
many NCHA weekend shows had to be cancelled in 2011 due to the
outbreak of the EHV-1 virus. These show cancellations created a
situation where many members who would have used shows that had to
be cancelled to qualify for the prestigious National Championships
could not do so under the normal qualifying standards.
"We want to be as 'member friendly' as possible with
this," noted NCHA President Keith Deaville. "The Eastern and Western
National Championships are very important events for weekend
cutters. We don't want to see any members unable to participate in
2012 due to the hardships that the EHV-1 virus caused this past
summer."

CONGRATULATIONS JIM SPELL!!
Jim Spell is the winner of our trip for two to Ireland fundraiser!
The drawing took place at the Seven Bar Ranch Cutting in Saratoga,
Wyoming on July 10th. Members of the WCHA Board of
Directors were present when the winning ticket was drawn by Todd
Adolf, President of the Western States Cutting Horse Association.
The winner was then contacted by phone by jack Enright, Trip
organizer and former President of the WCHA. Jim and his wife were
absolutely delighted to hear of their good fortune and plan to take
their trip to Ireland next spring! Jack
Enright would like to thank all those who supported the WCHA by
buying tickets and hopes they will support future fund raising
activities- including another chance to win a Trip for Two to
Ireland in 2012.
