THANK YOU!: The WCHA would like to thank Mr. S. E. Montgomery, the owner of Smart Sugar Badger.  Recently, Mr. Montgomery contacted the WCHA and has offered one breeding to his accomplished stallion to be put in a silent auction for the WCHA as a fundraiser. Through Mr. Montgomery’s wonderful generosity, the lucky winner will receive one free breeding which also includes a free chute fee and free shipping.  Here are some stats on this fine stallion.  Smart Sugar Badger is an own son of Smart Little Lena, out of Badger San Doc, an own daughter of Peppy San Badger.  He is an earner of $178,398 in the NCHA and has received the NCHA Bronze Award.  He was a finalist in the 2001 NCHA Open Futurity and is an NCHA Super Stakes Co-Reserve Champion.  He has 137 performance age foals with 49 being performers, with total earnings of $1,351,520.00.  If you are interested in placing a bid, please contact Traci Hatten at 307-331-0580 or traci_hatten75@yahoo.com. The bidding will close May 15, 2010.  If you would like more information about this stallion, please go to: www.SmartSugarBadger.com and if you would like more information about the silent auction, please click here. Here is your chance to breed a mare to an exceptional stallion and all the proceeds will benefit the WCHA!

Also, thank you to Pete and Linda Gullicks of Cheyenne for your generous donation to the WCHA.  Pete operates, "Wyoming Halter Company" and makes custom rope halters, chinks, headstalls, loping hackamores, breast collars and can make just about anything equine a person could imagine.  Pete’s handmade halters are known to be a good value for a good price.  Thanks very much Pete and Linda!

THANK YOU: The WCHA would like to thank Harry and Anne Sager of Houston, Texas for their donation of $250.00 for year end awards.  These nice folks are cousins of WCHA member, Kim Oxley.  They both grew up in Wyoming, with Harry being born in Lusk and Anne in Cheyenne.  Both are graduates of the University of Wyoming, with Anne’s father being the Dean of Agriculture and Harry being a past president of the University Foundation.  Even though they have been away from Wyoming for some years, they continue to love and support the values of our great state, including the great sport of showing cutting horses.  Thanks you so much Harry and Anne!!

Letter from The President-
In case you haven't already heard, there has been a changing of the guard! Following the resignation of Jack Enright on January 25th, 2010, I will assume the vacancy of President of the WCHA. Jack will continue on the Board of Directors as Past President for one year and will also remain active on his committees as well as a member. On January 27th at a special Board Meeting, the Directors appointed Dick Mulligan as Vice-President. The two of us will fill these positions until next years General Membership meeting.
