September 18-23, 2008 Official Rules and Regulations
FUTURITY: Open, Non Pro & Amateur Classes. Amateur is a class within the
Non Pro Class. Open to any horse three (3) years of age as of the current year.
Said horse cannot have been shown in any other event other than a futurity
class.
DERBY: Open, Non Pro and Amateur Classes. Amateur is a class within the
Non Pro Derby Class. Open to any horse four (4) years of age as of the current
year.
CLASSIC/CHALLENGE: Open, Non Pro & Amateur classes. Amateur is a class
within the Non Pro class. Open to any horse five (5) or six (6) years of age as
of the current year.
REGISTRATION PAPERS: Copy of Horse Registration papers or a
veterinarian's certificate on grade horses verifying age must be submitted with
each entry form in all aged events
ENTRIES: All entries must be paid in full to the WCHA, by way of U.S.
Funds, by the start of the show. Late entries will be subject to a 10% penalty
charge. Refunds of 90% will be made only if show management receives a
veterinarian's certificate of illness or injury 5 days before the start of the
show. All entries are subject to the right of refusal by WCHA Show Management
and Directors.
MEMBERSHIP: Both the owner and the rider must be current members of the
WCHA. ($35 membership fee each, owner and rider)
JUDGING: Two (2) NCHA judges using the self-adjusted monitor system (SAMS)
will judge all classes.
SUBSTITUTIONS: Substitution of a horse by the same owner may be made
before the draw of the first go round of a class. No substitutions will be
allowed after the class is drawn. Rider substitutions will be allowed up to the
first go round. After that time, no substitutions will be allowed.
AGED EVENTS: All divisions of the aged event classes will consist of two
(2) go rounds and a finals. EXCEPTIONS: The Amateur class will have a pencil
finals. Any class with six (6) or fewer entries will have a pencil final. Any
class with 100 or more entries, 75% will advance to the second go round.
ADVANCEMENT FEE: There will be an advancement fee of $135.00 per horse,
for working finals.
PAYOUT: LAE Total Added Money $38,500
Added Money: 3 Year Old Open 22% of Total Added
3 Year Old Non Pro 14% of Total Added
4 Year Old Open 18% of Total Added
4 Year Old Non Pro 14% of Total Added
5/6 Year Old Open 18% of Total Added
5/6 Year Old Non Pro 14% of Total Added
15% of the Total Purse (Added & Jackpot) will be paid in Each Go Round. 70% of
the Total Purse will be paid in the Finals
Six (6) places will be paid in each go round. All Finalists will receive a
check. Payout amounts will be percentages of both Added Money and Entry Fee
Thirty percent (30%) of the horses in the 2nd go round will advance to the
finals with a minimum of four (4) and a maximum of twenty (20) plus ties. All
horses in the finals will receive a check. The Amateur Class will pay Pencil
Finals Only.
TIES: In the event of a tie, Co-Champions shall be declared. The money
will be split equally and the award will be decided by a coin toss. Three way or
greater ties shall be worked off with one being determined as Champion and
remainder as Co-Reserve Champions. The money will be split equally.
GENERAL: NCHA & WCHA rules will govern all events
· Riders may ride an unlimited number of horses
· The draw for the first go rounds will be posted at the practice session
· WCHA reserves the right to cancel all or any part of this contest without
liability to them. IN case of cancellation, all entry money will be returned to
subscribers.
· It is hereby understood by all participants that all liability that may arise
the WCHA and/or its staff members, is hereby waived.
· All rules and regulations are subject to change by Show Management, if deemed
necessary, without liability.
